Entomology is one of my favorite projects. I've given several demonstrations or illustrated talks on this topic - like this one on how to save bees by making watering stations. I've also been the Jr. Leader for the Platte and Clay Entomology SPIN Club and led several camps on fun facts about insect.
My insect collection has grown to include over 130 insects over 13 orders. My favorite is the dragonfly or Odonata order. Next would be bees. I enjoy finding insects because I get to be outdoors.
I've recently joined a research project as a citizen scientist, working with University of Missouri professor, Kevin Rice on a stink bug initiative. It is a 10-week effort to study the affects of an aggregation pheromone in attracting stink bugs. The goal is to find a way to attract and remove stink bugs from agricultural areas.
